If you are considering a Custom Fit garment, Please read the following carefully.
We've made garments for 1000's of people based on our Standard American
and Standard
Metric sizing charts. BUT- it doesn't take much imagination to know that
not every person will fit a standard size pattern. At Spandexwear.com- WE FIT
ANYONE!!! Spandexwear has made patterns to fit people weighing in at over 400
pounds... bodybuilders with 56" chests and biceps bigger than the
WebMaster's thighs... literally any body shape. Just because you don't fit our
Standard Patterns doesn't mean you can't have the costume or gament you've
always wanted!!!!
Now,
about your measurements. It is crucial that you measure correctly.
For the most accurate measurements, we recommend having another person
do the measuring. Spandexwear's patterns are created using complex
formulae, which use actual
body dimensions, proportion ratios, and specific fabric stretch
factors. Hold the tape measure snugly, but not tight enough to cut in. Let's say you have a 42" waist, but you snug up the
measuring tape a bit for a 40" measurement. It is Spandex after all,
you
say? Yes it is, but our
patterns are already sized to stretch to your measurements.
That 2" difference will have a ripple effect on multiple
calculations. If you want your garment to have a special fit someplace,
tell us
in the Comment Box on our order form, and the SeamMistress will make
the proper
adjustments.
One of the most commonly asked questions is:
"I am working out and plan to xx lbs/inches, can you make my suit now to fit the new measurements I expect to have in 2 months?"
Answer- NO, I cannot make a suit to estimated future measurements!
Well, I suppose I
could, but since there is no guarantee you will
actually lose the weight/inches, I cannot guarantee that the suit will
fit you. My advice? wait until you lose the weight, then measure and
place your order.
If you intend to wear any special
foundations or undergarments with your spandex garment, be sure to take your
measurements while wearing that item, IE: Corset, bra, girdle, etc...
Bottom line? for the most accurate measurements and best fit:
1. Have a friend do the measuring
2. Refer to the How to Measure diagrams
3. Never "fudge" measurements to get a tighter or looser fit
4. The most common areas for error when you measure yourself? inseam, rise and neck-to-waist
Remember- we guarantee that every
Custom Fit
garment will Fit you like a Glove, or we make you a brand new garment...
provided you
give us accurate measurements! If you don't give us accurate measurements, and
your garment doesn't fit properly, you put us in a very difficult spot...
Custom Fit Patterns are retained on file indefinitely for future use.
Multiple garments can be made from 1 full pattern, BUT 1 Custom Fit Pattern
does not cover every possibility... and over time, you may be charged the fee
additional times for different garment types and/or fabrics. A Full Suit is not a Mummy Bag is not a Zombie Suit is not a
Hobble Dress, you see?
The PVC spandex has significantly less stretch than the rest of our
fabrics and requires special patterns. If you purchase a Custom Fit Pattern to
have a Full Suit made in one of our regular nylon/spandex, velour, or print fabrics, and you later want another
Full Suit made from PVC, you will have to have a second pattern made.
Buying a Custom Fit Pattern for a Full Suit allows you to order more Full
Suits, Torso Suits, Shirts, Leggings, Stockings, Elbow Gloves, Opera Gloves,
all from the same pattern, in the same Fabric Stretch Code. Buying a Custom Fit
Pattern for a Full Hobble Suit also allows us to make you the Hobble Dress, and
all lengths of tight fitting skirts. The 4 versions of our Mummy Bags- regular,
and 3 versions of the stitched bag - all require unique patterns and they
cannot be interchanged. However, we will use exisiting patterns wherever possible to cut your expense and our workload.
On the Product pages, you will find the Custom Fit sizing choice. If you know you have already purchased the pattern that applies to that item/ fabric, choose "Returning Customer" If you are unsure, drop me a line before ordering and I will check your file. Pattern information will always be confirmed before running charges on any custom fit order so that no one is over or under charged.
We realize this may be confusing, and we'll address this issue as needed with each customer at the time of order. You can also email pattern-related questions to the
SeamMistress before you order. The Bottom Line? We are busy folk... if you
buy one pattern and come back to us for another garment, we're going to do
everything we can to make you more garments from the original pattern if we
can. Making these patterns does not generate profit for us, you are paying for just
our minimum labor and and materials involved so we can make you the garment you want. If you've taken the time to read this information, Thank you! Your reward is a $5 coupon good on any order: READER5 (limit one per customer, one coupon code per order)
Our patterns are not for sale. This is a custom fit service, and all patterns will remain the exclusive property of Graphica Design.
