Garment Care

Your Spandex garment is very easy to care for, and does not require any special cleaning procedures. We simply recommend hand washing in cold water and drip drying for longest garment life. Regular detergent is safe for spandex fabrics. Most of the fabrics  we use are made of Nylon/spandex or Poly/spandex and all of our garments come with a sewn in label indicating fiber content and washing instructions.

Many of our customers report that they simply throw their garments into the wash on a gentle cycle, then dry them on a Low setting. While this may work OK for busy folks with our standard Spandex fabrics, be aware that over time exposure to heat will damage the spandex fibers. We ABSOLUTEY DO NOT recommend doing this with our premium Metallic or PVC Spandex fabrics. Both will suffer immediate damage by the agitation and dryer heat. The saddest email we ever received was from a customer who ignored our advice and washed his brand new Silver Foil Alien Costume in the washing machine with his blue jeans.

Keep your Spandex garments away from Velcro. If we do any special work for you using Velcro, (such as making a removable tail on our Cat or Devil Costumes) always keep the backing strips we provide attached when not wearing the garment. The hooks will pill the garment fabric quickly. Another hard-earned tip? Cats LOVE spandex, and their claws can quickly make your Spandex Leggings look like last week's hose.
